Eyecare in Wrexham

Sight – it’s a wonderful thing

Sight is the most important of our senses, giving us over 80% of our information of the world around us.

We want to help you make the most your sight and look after this most precious of senses.

Take a look at our pages in ‘Eyecare’, for information on the eye test, common sight problems and eye conditions.

Will eating carrots improve your sight?

Fact: Carrots are high in vitamin A, a nutrient essential for good vision. Eating carrots will provide you with the small amount of vitamin A needed for good vision, but vitamin A isn't limited to rabbit food, it can also be found in milk, cheese, egg yolk, and liver.

How often should I have an eye check?

For most people an eye examination every 2 years is sufficient. For some people at higher risk of eye disease (such as people with diabetes, or with an immediate relative with glaucoma) the recommended interval is 1 year. It can be also more frequent in children because young eyes can change rapidly.
